About Universal Remote Codes

Universal Remote Codes is an independent project by Rai Ansar. It exists because universal remote codes are only useful for the exact remote and code list version in your hand, and most code lists online do not say which version they are for.

Who runs it

Rai Ansar builds and runs this site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Jasco, GE, Philips, UltraPro, RCA, VOXX, Jem Accessories or any TV maker. Brand names are used only to identify which remote or device a code belongs to.

Where the codes come from

  • GE, UltraPro and Jasco-made Philips remotes: Jasco's universal remote code page, which carries the full CL3, CL4, CL5 and CL6 lists (4,277 rows).
  • RCA: the data files behind RCA's own remote code finder (20,554 rows across 35 revision numbers), cross-checked against RCA's printed code list PDFs for the current revisions.

A script collects those sources and stores every code exactly as published: same digits, leading zeros kept, same order. Code numbers are facts; the tables, finder and explanations here are our own, and every page links to the official list it came from. The one place we change what a finder shows is RCA revision R341U1, where RCA's online finder drops leading zeros that RCA's printed lists include; each changed code is flagged.

All sources were last checked on September 24, 2026. We rerun the check when a maker changes its list, and a page's date changes only when its content does.

How pages are written and checked

Pages are drafted with AI assistance. Every code, step and claim is then checked against the linked manufacturer source, and the code tables are generated straight from the stored data rather than typed by hand. Programming steps are restated from the manufacturer's own page or manual, which is cited under each set of steps; where we haven't found written steps for a remote version, we link to the maker's video instead of guessing.

We haven't tested these codes on physical remotes and TVs. The word “tested” will only appear next to a written record of the test.

How the site is paid for

It isn't yet. There are no ads and no affiliate links. If that changes, links that earn a commission will be labeled where they appear, and the privacy page will be updated first.

Corrections

If a code here does not match your remote's printed list, or a maker's list has changed, email hello@universalremotecodes.net with the remote model, the version on its label and the device. Confirmed errors are fixed and noted.
