Xfinity remote codes
Whether you need a code depends on the remote. The XR16 needs none: press the Microphone button and say "Program remote". The XR15 takes the first five-digit code for your TV brand after you hold xfinity and Mute for five seconds. The XR11 has a Setup button and a code search: Setup, 9-9-1, then CH ^ until the TV turns off. The only TV code list we found on xfinity.com is in its XR2 and XR5 guide, which starts Samsung at 10812, LG at 11265, Sony at 11100, Vizio at 11758 and TCL at 12290. All 339 brands are below.
Which Xfinity remote do you have?
Remove the battery cover to read the model number, then use the row that matches. The buttons help too: the XR11 has a Setup button, the XR15 has number buttons but no Setup button, and the XR16 has neither.

How to program an Xfinity remote to your TV
XR15 Voice Remote (no Setup button, has number buttons)
- Turn on your TV.
- Press and hold the xfinity and Mute buttons together for five seconds, until the light at the top changes from red to green.
- Type the first five-digit code for your TV brand.
- If the light blinks green twice, the code worked. If it blinks red then green, the code didn't work.
- Aim the remote at the TV and press Power. If the TV turns off, turn it back on and check that Volume and Mute work.
- If the TV doesn't turn off, try the next code for your brand.
Another route from Xfinity: hold xfinity and Info (i) for five seconds until the light turns green, then enter the three-digit pairing code that appears on screen and follow the on-screen steps for power, volume and input.
XR11 Voice Remote (has a Setup button): search for the code
If your TV brand isn't in the Remote Code Lookup tool, Xfinity gives this search:
- Turn on your TV.
- Press and hold the Setup button until the light at the top changes from red to green.
- Enter 9-9-1. The light should blink green twice.
- Press CH ^ until the TV turns off.
- When the TV turns off, press Setup to save the code.
- Press the TV power button on the remote. If the TV turns on, you're all set.
XR2 and XR5: enter a code from the list
- Install the batteries and make sure your TV and set-top box are on.
- Find your TV brand in the code list below.
- Press and hold the Setup button until the status light changes from red to green.
- Enter the first code listed for your TV brand. The light should flash green twice.
- Press the TV Power button. If the TV turns off, the remote is programmed: turn the TV back on and check VOL +/- and Mute.
- If the TV doesn't turn off, or VOL +/- and Mute don't work, repeat with the next code for your brand.
If no listed code works, the XR2 and XR5 guide gives a search: hold Setup until the light turns green, enter 9-9-1, press CH ^ again and again until the TV turns off, then press Setup. The light should flash green twice; press TV Power, and if the TV turns on, the remote is programmed.

Xfinity remote won't program or control the TV
- The light flashes red, then green, while you type. Xfinity's guide says you may have typed an incorrect code. Check the digits and enter the code again.
- The light flashes red and nothing responds. Aim the remote at the TV, stay within 15 feet and make sure the set-top box is on and in plain sight, per the guide.
- Nothing works at all. Xfinity's page says to try changing the batteries.
- Still stuck. A factory reset erases the link between the remote and the TV Box, so you pair them again afterward.

What is the Xfinity remote code for a Samsung TV?
In Xfinity's XR2 and XR5 guide the first Samsung code is 10812, followed by 10702 and 10178. We found no printed list for the XR11 or XR15, so for those use its Remote Code Lookup tool or the XR15 and XR11 steps on this page.
What is the difference between the three-digit and five-digit codes?
On the XR15, holding xfinity and Info (i) for five seconds asks for a three-digit on-screen pairing code, which connects the remote to your TV Box. The five-digit codes are TV brand codes you type to control your TV's power and volume.
How do I program an Xfinity remote without a code?
The XR16 has no code step: aim it at your TV Box, press the Microphone button and say "Program remote". The XR11 has a code search (Setup, 9-9-1, CH ^) for brands missing from the lookup tool, described below.
What if my TV brand isn't in the list?
